The Permanent Employment of a Temporary Worker

The Temporary worker is now becoming a permanent fixture in today’s workforce, and while some people view temporary work negatively, it has proven successful in stimulating job growth in a struggling economy. The acceleration of temp hiring has sky rocketed even though the economy has shown little to no mercy.  According to the American Staffing Association, more jobs have been created through the temporary industry than any other.

This “temporary trend” is proving to be less of a trend and more of a permanent fixture in our society.  Companies are turning away from long-term employment because it isn’t a cost they want to incur.

According to an article released by the associated press and discussed in further detail on Fox News, “The number of temps has jumped more than 50 percent since the recession ended four years ago to nearly 2.7 million — the most on government records dating to 1990.  In no other sector has hiring come close.”

“There’s much more appreciation of the importance of having flexibility in the workforce,” says Barry Asin of Staffing Industry Analysts.

According to Towers’ research, within the next ten years a severe labor shortage is expected to hit the United States.  Employers should expect to see talent as a rarity and wages will become increasingly competitive; resulting in highly talented individuals turning to temporary jobs.

If permanent employment is something you desire, but are having difficulty attaining it, try turning to temporary work.  According to ASA, “80 percent of staffing clients say staffing firms offer a good way to find people who can become permanent employees.”  Taking a temporary job can be one of the best options because this opportunity not only can lead to the possibility of being placed permanently, but can also teach you new skills.

The new norm is temporary employment and it has now become a permanent fixture in our society. While some view this particular type of employment negatively, it has produced staggering results which in turn, has successfully stimulated our economy.

  1. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your site?

Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way
of content so people could connect with it
better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
