More on the vanishing cubicle: is it a good thing?

We recently wrote on the vanishing cubicle.  Then we came across this article that focuses on perhaps the best reasons for the gradual disappearing of the cubicle – collaboration and innovation.

The old way promoted antisocial behavior and individual working, with workers popping their heads over the pegboard walls with the occasional question or request to borrow a stapler.  We still work individually of course, but the new open, shared environments increasingly common in the workplace make it so much easier to connect with a team!

What do you think of cubicles?  Will you miss them when they’re gone?  Or do you like the new, open way of working?
