How to Keep Innovating

Every CEO understands the importance of innovation, but few companies actually sustain a culture of innovation.  Why is this, and what can we do to ensure we continue to innovate as companies?

As business grows, it becomes difficult for leaders to juggle maintaining creativity and innovation with the demands of a growing business.  Yet, innovation is crucial to survival.  Specifically speaking of the staffing industry, some of our challenges that require our being quick to adapt include changing technology, a skills demand gap, and a change in the type of workers requested.  Whatever your industry, these few tips are simple to implement and will help keep you innovating.

1. Book time to relax – for yourself and your employees.  It’s the only way you can be creative.  Without the chance to recharge, you are only ever reacting.

2. Help employees grow by providing or supporting ongoing training.

3. Listen to your inexperienced people. They may not have honed their skill set, but their thinking isn’t limited or jaded and they often have a better handle on what’s new and where things are headed.

4. Don’t stop taking calculated risks.  It’s what made your business successful in the first place, and it’s what will help it stay that way.
