Cost of employee turnover

You know employee turnover costs you money.  That’s why you take steps to reduce it.  You try to provide a work environment that challenges and inspires.  You offer fair compensation and growth opportunities.  Most importantly, you do your best to hire the right person the first time.

We found a link to this Turnover Calculator on ERE.net.  Granted, it’s super simplified, omitting many factors in calculating the cost of an employee leaving, but it gives you an idea in a pinch.

Many companies turn to staffing agencies to reduce their turnover bottom lines.  This works in two ways: first, you have someone working full time for you, to match the right employees with the right jobs, preventing the costs of a bad match.  Second, many of the costs associated with turnover are the responsibility of the staffing agency, not your company.
